Los Comedy Pet Photo Awards have awarded their most important awards of the year, and the results of the fifth edition will either make you laugh or make you faint, sometimes simultaneously.

Created by professional photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, these awards aim to “highlight the positive and vital role that pets have in our lives and encourage commitment to animal welfare.

Six judges determined the winner of the best overall photo based on the “technical excellence” and the “fun content and captions.” This year, a dog trying to sneak through a small cat flap won first prize. Sarah Haskell’s photo titled ‘Not Just for Cats’ faced stiff competition, but emerged victorious.

Talking about your victoria, Haskell said she was delighted to have been crowned this year’s winner. “I am delighted that Héctor and I participated, and I feel tremendously proud to be the winner.”

Without any more preambles, here are the winners:

Overall Winner and Dog Category Winner: Sarah Haskell – ‘Not Just for Cats’

Cat category winner: Kenichi Morinaga – ‘Cat in a trap like Super Mario’

Horse Category Winner: Debby Thomas – ‘I Think I Saw a Mouse!’
