Several Israeli attacks on tents near the southern city of Rafah They have killed at least 25 people and more than 50 have been injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health and emergency workers.

Israeli forces bombed on Friday tent camps for displaced Palestinians north of Rafah, in the latest deadly attack in the small Palestinian territory where hundreds of thousands have fled fighting between Israel and Hamas.

The Israeli attacks took place just outside a safe zone designated by Israel. The Israeli military said it was investigating the attacks at the reported coordinates. Israel has previously bombed locations in the vicinity of the “humanitarian zone” in Al Mawasi, a rural area on the Mediterranean coast that has been filled with tent camps in recent months.

Israel blames Hamas for civilian deaths

The bombings occurred as Israel continued its military operation in the southern Strip, where More than a million Palestinians had sought refuge of the fighting in other parts of Gaza.

Most have fled Rafah, but the United Nations says no place in Gaza is safe and that humanitarian conditions are dire, with families sheltering in tents and apartments without adequate food, water or medical supplies.

Israel says that is attacking Hamas fighters and infrastructure and that tries to minimize civilian deaths. He blames the large number of civilian casualties on the militants and says it is because they operate among the population.
