San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich This Monday he said he hopes to coach the Texan franchise again He thanked the support he received since he suffered a stroke on November 2.
Those were the first words from the five-time NBA champion Spurs coach who suffered a stroke.
“I want to get back with each and every one of you, and for now, let me say that my family and I are forever grateful,” Popovich said in a statement distributed by the Spurs.

“No one was more excited to see me back on the bench than the talented professionals guiding my rehabilitation process. They learned quickly that I was untrainable,” he joked.
Popovich, 75, suffered a stroke before a Nov. 2 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, two days after it was announced that he would be sidelined indefinitely due to health issues.
In his absence, Mitch Johnson has taken interim command of Spurs.
