Serhii Bohachuk is optimistic of remaining on Saturday’s card in Riyadh after his previously scheduled opponent, Israil Madrimov, withdrew from the contest. Former WBC interim junior middleweight champion Bohachuk (24-2, 23 KOs) faces Ismael Davis (13-1, 6 KOs) in the 12-round slot in the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk rematch in Riyadh, Saudi. Arabia.
Undercard quality
Even with Madrimov pulling out of the fight, Bohachuk vs. Davis is still the best match on the Fury-Usyk 2 card. There is nothing on the card after the Bohachuk fight, which is sad. Ishmael Davis has no chance of beating Bohachuk, but he will give it a good try before being mowed down in six rounds. Davis can’t punch, and he’s only British level.
Fury-Usyk 2 Undercard
Serhii Bohachuk vs. Ishmael Davis
Daniel Lapin vs. Dylan Colin
Andrii Novytskyi vs. Edgar Ramirez
Isaac Lowe vs. Lee McGregor
Moses Itauma vs. Demsey McKean
Johnny Fisher vs. David Allen
It’s an unfortunate card skewed towards British fans – the simple, ultra-hardcore variety. They are not overly happy with lackluster fights, especially domestic level fighters who will never be champions or even contenders.
Surprisingly, Turki Alalshikh did not draw the line with the promoters, and this will not happen. If I were the money man, I would laugh the promoters out of the room if they offered me these same fights. These fights are so terrible that it’s unbelievable that any of them made it onto this card.
Turki should drop the undercard and find some last minute replacements because no one deserves to be on a PPV card, even a low level card. These are small hall fights.
Madrimov came down with a case of acute bronchitis, which raised the eyebrows of incredulous fans. He will fight Vergil Ortiz Jr. on February 22 in Riyadn.
Bohachuk-Davis could steal the show from the main event Fury-Usyk 2 rematch at the Kingdom Arena if they go to war on Saturday night. The fight of former WBC junior middleweight champion Bohachuk against Vergil Ortiz Jr. on August 10 was one of the most exciting fights this year as both guys dropped bombs.
Vergil Jr. he fell in the eighth round after being dropped for the second time by Bohachuk. After that defeat, Ortiz Jr. he got on his bike and went into survival mode for the final four rounds to win a controversial 12-round majority decision. Most agree that Vergil Jr. didn’t win, but it was Las Vegas; it goes with the territory.
Bohachuk Unfazed
“I have a good opponent, I have a good show. Of course, I am angry with) Madrimov. Now it’s okay, I have an opponent, I have a show,” said Serhii Bohachuk to Fight Hub TVreact to Israil Madrimov who pulls out of his fight this Saturday, December 21st, in Riyadh.
Ishmael Davis lost his last fight to Josh Kelly via a 12-round majority decision on September 21 on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London. It is not known why Turki did not use Kelly as Bohachuk’s opponent rather than the guy he beat, Davis.
That would have made a lot more sense, but even Kelly would be a poor choice. Bohachuk would destroy him just like Davis, and he will make easy work of him on Saturday. This is a terrible mismatch.
