BF Super Lightweight champion Liam Paro (25-1, 15 KOs) lost a split decision to IBF North American, WBC Silver, and WBO NABO champion Richardson Hitchins (20-0, 7 kOs) on Saturday night at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum , St. Juan, Puerto Rico.
In the first three rounds, Paro floored Hitchins. A right cross hit Hitchins in the fourth, sending him several paces to his left. In the fifth round, Hitchins was drawing blood from Paro’s nose.
In the final minute of the seventh round, Hitchins landed a solid right to Paro’s chin. In the eleventh round, Hitchins overcame Paro. In the twelfth and final lap, it went back and forth, with Hitchins having a slight lead.
Scores 117-111 for Paro, 116-112, and 116-112 for Hitchins.
WBO Latino Super Feather southpaw champion Henry ‘Moncho’ Lebron, 20-0 (10) defeated Christopher ‘Pitufo’ Diaz, 29-5 (19) in ten rounds for the vacant IBF Latino title.
In the first eight rounds, Lebron had his way, for the most part, against the aggressive Diaz. In the ninth round, a clash of heads caused a cut on Lebron’s left eyebrow. In the tenth and final round, Diaz chased Lebron the whole way.

WBC Youth Silver and WBA No. American Welter champion Jalil ‘Major’ Hackett, 9-1 (7) lost a split decision to Jose ‘Chito’ Roman, 14-1 (6) over ten rounds.
In the first six rounds, Hackett was ahead, for the most part, support. In the eighth round, Hackett, having trouble making weight, seems to slow down as Roman takes over.
In the ninth round, Roman countered Hackett, who continued to advance with swelling outside of Hackett’s right eye. In the tenth and final round, Roman, who lost the first half of the fight, came back, taking the last three with swelling under the right eye at the end.
Referee Roberto Ramirez. Scores 96-94 for Roman, 96-94 Hackett, and 96-94 for Roman. A draw wouldn’t hurt.
Continental Americas champion Marc Castro, 13-1 (8) lost by split decision to Agustin ‘Sugar’ Quintana, 21-2-1 (13) in ten rounds.
It went back and forth in the first three rounds, with Castro having an advantage. In the fourth and fifth rounds, Quintana came back, taking both rounds.
In the sixth and seventh rounds, Castro floored Quintana for the most part. In the eighth and ninth rounds, Quintana again took the turn.
In the tenth and last round, both swinging wildly Castro had Quintana against the ropes for the most part.

WBA Continental Americas & WBC Silver Champ Yankiel ‘El Doctorcito’ Rivera, 7-0 (3), #112, of Toa Alta, PR, signed NABF Fly Champ Angel ‘Set if off’ Gonzalez, 14-1 (7), #110.8, of Longwood, FL, at 2:10 of the fourth round of a scheduled 10 round.
In the fourth round, Rivera dropped Gonzalez with a combination to the chin for an 8 count from Referee Pabon. Seconds later, he hurt Gonzalez with a right on the chin and another in the back and went for an 8-count. Referee Luis Pabon greeted him.
In the opening match WBA Continental Americas Welterweight champion Stefanie “The Medicine” Piniero, 8-0 (2), #146.4, of Bayamon, PR, defeated Kalinda Faria, 2-3 (0), #139.8, of Sao Paulo, BRZ , more than 8 × 2 round.
In the first three rounds Piniero had the advantage. In the fourth round, Pinero caught Faria with a right hook to the chin midway through.
In the seventh final round seconds Faria ran from Piniero to get to the bell. Faria was struck in both eyes. In the eighth and final round, the taller lefty Piniero continued to dominate Faria.

Super Light southpaw William ‘Willito’ Ortiz, 7-0(4), #140, of Toa Alta, PR, easily defeated Lionell ‘Taz’ Omar Colon, 6-1(3), #139 ¼, of PR, Ocala , FL, over 6 rounds.
In the first round, both had their moments. In the second round, Ortiz caught Colon on several occasions with lead lefts to the chin. In the fourth round, Ortiz continued to work Ortiz who didn’t seem to do much until the final seconds possibly trying to steal a round.
In the fifth round with a minute remaining, Ortiz landed a left on the chin, knocking Colon back several steps. Colon had an abrasion around his left eye at the end. In the sixth and final round Ortiz continued to dominate Colon.

Bantam Juan ‘Juancito’ Zayas of Bayamon, PR defeated Geraldo ‘Rigondiaux’ of Santo Domingo, DR in 8 rounds.
In the first four rounds Zayas had the lead. In the sixth round, Zayas suffered a cut on his right eyelid. In the eighth round, Zayas was cautioned for holding throughout the round
