Edman joined the Dodgers midway through last season from the St. Louis Cardinals. He played in 37 games during the regular season, in which he batted .237, with five doubles, one triple and six home runs, while he scored 20 runs and drove in 20.
His best moment came in the championship series, when he hit a .407 average, had three doubles, a home run, five runs and 11 RBIs in six games to lead the Dodgers to the World Series, in which they defeated New York. The Yankees would be crowned Major League Baseball champions.
