Floyd Schofield Sr. says his son, “Kid Austin,” will be ready to fill in for the injured William Zepeda and face Shakur Stevenson for his WBC lightweight title on February 22.
Schofield Sr. says that Kid Austin (18-0, 12 KOs) will fight Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) wherever he wants, and will give half of his purse to “charity.” He claims that the winner of the fight can face Zepeda.
What Schofield Sr. what he does not say is that Oscar De La Hoya has to agree to the fight, and he may not want to leave because Kid Austin is not nearly ready.
