Whyte: Joshua still has ‘a lot to miss’

Fringe Contender Dillian Whyte insists Anthony Joshua still has “a lot left” in his game despite being defeated by IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in his last fight.

Of course, Whyte’s attitude could be considered self-serving because it is no secret that he is still hoping for a lucrative rematch with Joshua. A Joshua-Whyte rematch of their 2015 fight would get a lot of PPV buys in the UK.

With Whyte’s slice of the pay-per-view revenue, he could walk home $6 million to $12 million for a second fight with Joshua. As such, it is not a surprise that Whyte talks about Joshua having a lot left when the reality is very different.

Joshua probably won’t waste time with a fight against Whyte because he can make more money fighting Tyson Fury and a trilogy with Oleksandr Usyk. The boxing public around the world does not want to see a Joshua-Whyte rematch in this lifetime.

US fans didn’t want to see a rematch between Whyte and Joshua, but the British public would love this fight. They don’t give up on washed up fighters like the Americans.

Joshua has lost four times since 2019, losing to these fighters:

– Daniel Dubois
– Oleksandr Usyk x 2
– Andy Ruiz

Joshua recently turned 35 and was outmatched in his loss to Dubois, dropping four rounds in his fifth-round loss on September 21. AJ doesn’t look like he has anything and could be hurt if he chooses to take a rematch with the 27-year-old Dubois.

“He still has a lot left in the tank, and he’s still a great shot. And as you can see in the fight, he’s still a great puncher. He had Dubois going before Dubois landed the final blow,” said Dillian Whyte Sky Sports News about Anthony Joshua.

“He is young, strong, and looks in incredible shape. Il reste encore beaucoup de combats.

Joshua can still earn money for a long time, fighting in the Saudi shows and in the UK against selective opposition, such as Tyson Fury. But to put Joshua in with Dubois, Martin Bakole, or Zhilei Zhang would be a bad idea and would not end well for him.

If AJ wants to keep fighting to generate money, he can do that in his 50s and possibly retire as a billionaire. Joshua’s net worth is estimated at $220 millionthat could shoot up to more than $400 million after two fights against Tyson Fury.

Given Joshua’s immense popularity and punching power, it is quite realistic for him to become a billionaire if his promoter, Eddie Hearn, matches him selectively over the next six years.
