In the third round, Ingram allowed Oliveira to press forward as he proceeded to consistently hit Oliveira with solid shots as he struggled on the back foot. In the process, the match went from a boxing match to an opportunity for Ingram to work on his craft.

Ingram worked the jab, did a good job with his punch placement, wrestled well off the back foot, wrestled well off the front foot, and added some showboating as he wrestled with both hands in the 5th round.
