Tyson: Jake is ‘Inferior’, ‘In Trouble’

Mike Tyson is not impressed with his opponent Jake Paul’s ability as a fighter, seeing him as “Inferior” with his ability in the ring.

Former Disney actor Jake took up boxing four years ago to earn money on the side, and has been learning on the job ever since. He especially beat the non-boxers who were long in the tooth. For example, Paul has recent wins over 39-year-old Nate Diaz and 47-year-old Anderson Silva, both former MMA fighters.

You can’t blame Tyson for seeing Paul as a low level fighter because he hasn’t shown enough confidence to face real fighters so far. Even then, Jake chose a retired fighter of 19 years, close to 60.

Mike Tyson, 58, will be the first real boxer that Jake has fought, and there is a lot of interest from people to see how he does against someone with his ability.

Tyson: “Jake is in trouble”

“As a fighter, he is inferior. He only cares what happens in the ring. He can say what he wants,” said Mike Tyson BBC Sport about Jake Paul’s fighting skills. “In the ring is where the party starts. We’re going to find out if he can party with the big boys.”

“Smashing,” Tyson said when asked how the fight with Jake ended. “I think Jake’s in a lot of trouble,” Mike said about ending the fight with Paul.

Doctorate Video Clips?

Tyson has many doubters who are skeptical about his ability to defeat even a low level fighter like Jake Paul. They point out that they haven’t seen Tyson throw steady combinations without needing a rest break. In other words, Tyson’s pad work has been short video clips that last a few seconds without showing that he continues to train.

Fans believe that the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Tyson only has two or three rounds in him before he gasses, and it’s stop or quit against Jake. They think the years of smoking weed and living the sweet life will hurt Tyson’s cardio, limiting him in the fight to two or three hard rounds.

The detractors may have a point because Tyson breathes hard even during normal conversation. You can see his chest rising and falling at rest with no movement, which is obviously not a good sign going into this fight. Boxing is a cardio sport, and you need to be well conditioned to win. U
