Matchroom Boxing and Golden Boy promotions now available on DAZN Queensberry Promotions Will join forces with streaming services in april And with Top Rank’s deal with ESPN set to expire in the summer of 2025, that company The possibility of a new home or multiple homes is being considered.

That doesn’t mean Top Rank will end up on DAZN, but the promotion’s fight card that might land on DAZN doesn’t bother Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn.

“The more, the more fun.” Hearn said in an interview with The Ariel Helwani Show.

It’s an interesting perspective. Hearn is exceptionally outspoken when talking about his competitors. This created the ire of many executives. The politics of the boxing business means that promoters often don’t work together because they have exclusive deals with their networks or streaming services.

On the other hand, adding more sponsors to the same streaming service could mean a smaller share of the budget. and thus fewer free days for the company. But that’s not how Hearn sees it. He thinks it will make DAZN stronger. And a rising tide lifts all boats.

“The better the product, the better. The better the offer to members, the more DAZN members get,” Hearn said. “The more DAZN members there are, the more profitable the business. The more profitable the business, the more There will be more opportunities for bigger shows. Bigger budget More shows and more members Getting more exposure to our fighters I don’t need the platform all to myself. We want to bring together great battles.”

Matchroom and Queensberry have been working together more regularly of late. Thanks to funding from Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh, the deal with DAZN will only encourage that to happen more often, Hearn said.

“You are going to see more and more matchups with Queensberry fighters. Because now there is no network politics,” he said. “We are all on the same platform.”

There’s no guarantee the top spot will end with DAZN, but company executives are contemplating staying with multiple broadcasters at the same time.

“We’re talking to everyone out there,” said Todd DuBoef, president of Top Rank. Said last week on The Ariel Helwani Show.– “We really love our partnership with ESPN. It’s really interesting because we’ve seen the deck change so much with other sports. It’s been amazing to watch. If the NBA goes to three media partners, the NFL goes to 5 o’clock and then It also considers perspectives between traditional media companies and technology. Even after compounding Are you looking for just domestic rights or are you looking for global rights? I think all of these things are on the table. We are very excited about what this next chapter will bring.”

And DuBoef said ESPN doesn’t need to stop showing boxing as a whole.

“We are actually talking with ESPN as well,” he said. “We have a good relationship with them. After we go out into the market and start talking to them and talking to other players, we’ll see if there’s a place for them in our content pool. Obviously, they’ve been in a relationship for a long time…so I really value them.”
