Conor Wallace agrees promotional terms with Matchroom

Irish light heavyweight Conor Wallace has signed a promotional deal with Matchroom.

Wallace, 28, is based in Australia. and thus promoted by Tasman Fighters and Goldstar Promotion.

He fights 23-year-old and South African Azemahle Welem on December 11 at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane and hopes those guiding his career will help him get it. World Champion in 2025

“I am very excited,” he said. “I have dreamed of being a world champion since I was a child. That is my ultimate goal.

“I am looking forward to a big night ahead with Matchroom, Tasman Fighters and Goldstar – and I am fully focused on the task at hand on December 11.”

Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn has increased interest in the Australian fighter. As seen from him overseeing a fight involving Liam Paro, Skye Nicolson and Jai Opetaia, he said: “This is a great signing for us – and one we are thrilled to have alongside Mick. Francis at Tasman Fighters and Spencer Brown at Goldstar

“There is no denying Conor’s talent and it is certainly difficult to stop him. I see an incredibly bright future for him in the ring. And there are many big fights ahead in a division that promises to deliver even more fireworks in 2025.”

Francis is the head of an Australian promotional organization that rivals No Limit in influence, and he said: “Having Eddie Hearn and Spencer Brown support Tasman Fighters and Conor Wallace is a game changer.

“I can’t think of a better partnership in boxing than this. And it gives Conor the opportunity to fight here in Australia and around the world as a host. We are all looking forward to the future.”
