Regis Prograis has indicated that he may continue his professional boxing career.
After his decision loss to Jack Catterall in Manchester, England, on Saturday, the former two-time world champion from New Orleans indicated his future may lie elsewhere and suggested he might. Head to the knee field
However, he went to X to write: “Maybe it’s time to move up. I’m tired of being skinny.”
Prograis then added a photo from the Catterall fight: “No, I will not retire. I will be the champion again.”
In a conversation with Fight Hub TV, Prograis said Catterall was better than he thought. “He is an awkward fighter. But he is definitely better than I thought.”
When Prograis was asked if Catterall was a better fighter than Devin Haney, to whom Prograis lost in December, Prograis replied: “I can’t say whether it’s better or not. No, I think Devin has more tools. But I will say this: I’m better off as a Saturday night fighter than I am with Devin. Devin’s Battle Definitely not me. That’s not me at all. With this fight, I’m more focused. and live more in the present I live in that moment Even walking to the ring I had fun. I can still replay everything in my mind. With Devin’s fight I wasn’t really there. I can’t say who’s better. Both are good boxers. But what I can say is I think Devin has more tools.”
After his victory, Catterall took to social media to support Prograis should he choose to continue, writing: “Can still wreak havoc in 147 divisions. Good luck Regis.”
Meanwhile, Catterall and Haney exchanged tweets about a possible fight, and Catterall called out Liam Paro, including posting, “Hi @TeofimoLopez.”
