Ryan Garcia: “Case Dismissed” – Boxing News 24

Ryan Garcia posted on social media today, saying: “Case dropped”, thanking his lawyer, Michael Goldstein, but does not say for which case. If it’s for the Devin Haney case, it had a quick end, but when you can afford a top-level lawyer like Ryan can, that’s how it goes.

Fans are assuming that Kingry is referring to the lawsuit that Haney recently filed against him for their fight last April, but it is unclear if this is the one.

Ryan immediately followed that post up with a question to his followers, asking if they wanted him to beat Haney again, and they responded in the affirmative.

Given Bill Haney’s upbeat attitude and demand that Garcia submit to drug testing within 48 hours for a rematch with Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) to happen next, it could be seen as a softening of the his part to pursue an expensive lawsuit.

That would have been costly, and could have jeopardized Haney’s chance for a lucrative rematch against Ryan in 2025. A rematch is Haney’s best way to make millions and get back to where he was before his loss to Ryan before this year.

If Haney wins in a competitive match-up, we could see a trilogy if it brings in a lot of PPV buys. Considering how much attention their fight generated afterward, it’s predictable that their rematch will bring in massive PPV buys, perhaps even more than Ryan’s fight against Gervonta Davis in 2023.

Bill Haney would need to step up his game to create interest because Ryan can’t lead the promotion for the rematch, and Devin won’t be much help obviously. It’s better when he doesn’t talk.
