Pedro Sánchez announces a bilateral summit with Palestine for this year

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced during the opening of the political course at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute, in Madrid, the call for a Spain-Palestine summit.

Pedro Sánchez did not give more details except that it would be carried out in the coming months “before the end of the year” accurate. Sánchez added that at the Summit he hoped “sign several collaboration agreements”. The President of the Spanish Government added “we are going to help Ukraine, support Gaza, strengthen ties with Palestineto remember the Sahel”.

In presenting the general lines of his project for the new course, Sánchez insisted on the Foreign policy that the Government launched during the last legislature.

We will continue supporting the Gazan people, holding UNRWA, pressuring Netanyahu at the International Criminal Court. “We will strengthen our ties with the Palestinian state that we have recently recognized,” he stressed.

Spain officially recognized Palestine as a State on May 28.. He defended the measure as “the only way to move towards a solution that we all recognize as the only possible one: that of a State of Palestine that coexists alongside the State of Israel in peace and security.”

Sánchez has also assured the Executive support for Ukraine in the war against Putin and the update of the so-called ‘Africa Plan’ which aims to “strengthen understanding and links” with West African countries.
