The video released by the Police Department Butler shows the moment a police officer saw the shooter on a roof, seconds before he attempted to assassinate Trump.
The images show the confusion of the moment
The video shows a Butler police officer peering out onto the roof where the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crookshad taken a position. The officer is helped by a colleague to get on, but He comes down quickly when he sees Crooks.. He then runs to alert other officers of the shooter’s presence and He goes to his patrol car to get his gun..
Thirty-nine seconds later, according to police, Crooks opened fire, hitting Donald Trump. The shots grazed the former president’s ear, killed one of the rally attendees, volunteer firefighter and father of two Corey Comperatore and injured two other attendees at the rally.
“He turned around and attacked me,” the police officer who looked out onto the roof yells at another officer after grabbing his gun and struggling to catch his breath. “Who’s watching it? I was right where you picked me up, brother. She was on the left side.”
In a matter of seconds, more law enforcement officers from different units are seen approaching the building, unable to prevent the shooter from firing with Donald Trump a few seconds later.
