The Olympic flame was the center of attention during the annual military parade in Paris on the occasion of France’s national holiday, Bastille Day.

The French capital is preparing a few days before the start of the Olympic Games. The flame was escorted by 25 bearers of the torch, and cadets.

From Olympia to Paris, the journey of the Olympic flame in 2024

The tradition of the Olympic flame, a symbol of peace and unity among nations, is preparing for its most recent journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The tour beginsas is usual, in ancient Olympia, Greece, birthplace of the Olympic Games. There, the flame is lit in a traditional way using the sun’s rays and a parabolic mirror, in a ceremony that evokes the purity and spirit of the ancient games.

After lighting, the flame will begin a trip through Greece for about a week, passing through emblematic places and important cities of the country. Then, in a special ceremony at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens, the flame will be handed over to the organizers of Paris 2024.

The torch relay in France has lasted nearly 80 days, covering much of French territory. The flame is expected to visit numerous departments and overseas regionsincluding French Polynesia, the Antilles and French Guiana, highlighting the geographical and cultural diversity of the country.

During its journey through France, the flame will pass iconic cities, historical monuments and places of cultural importance. It is expected that thousands of bearers participate in the relayrepresenting the diversity of French society and the Olympic spirit of inclusion.

The journey culminates in Paris, where the flame will ultimately be used to light the Olympic cauldron during the opening ceremony of the Games, marking the official start of the 2024 Olympics.
