After Add Japanese right-hander Rogi Sasaki, who was awarded the prize on FridayThe Dodgers made another move to massively upgrade their pitching staff on Sunday, agreeing to a four-year, $72 million contract with left-handed reliever Tanner Scott, a source told MLB.com, though the team would not confirm the deal.

The deal includes a $20 million signing bonus and $21 million in deferred salary, according to Finance.

Scott has been one of baseball’s most dominant players over the past two seasons, coming off a 2024 campaign during which he posted a 1.75 ERA and reached his first All-Star Game.

After being traded from the Marlins to the Padres on July 30, Scott was particularly dominant in the playoffs, striking out 7 in 4 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out four times, including against Shohei Ohtani.

Now they are friends.
