Tank Davis Wants to ‘Tax’ Ryan Garcia Again…For a Huge $150 Million!

Gervonta Davis says he’s going to fight Ryan Garcia again, “tax his a**,” but he wants $150 million for the rematch. That is his firm asking price, and he will wait for it to be sent to him before he agrees to fight the young social media star again.

Two years ago, Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) knocked out Garcia in the seventh round, albeit with the benefit of two point weight stipulations of a limit of 136 lb of catchweight and 10 lb of rehydration.

Amazingly, Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) agreed to both, and that was his undoing as it looked like death was coming during the fight. He appeared rail-thin and ill.

Tank and his management approached Garcia, who was desperate and naive to the world at the time, and foolishly agreed. What a dummy. I bet Tank and his team laughed at Ryan when he agreed to this handicap.

Tank’s $150M Fantasy

“I’ll tax that ** again. Tell the boys give me $150 million. I’m coming,” Gervonta Davis said on Instagram. Tell him to send that bag and I’ll come.

For a rematch to have a chance to happen, Gervonta, 30, will need to come down from his cool $150 million demands and back off with the weight handicaps he might feel he needs to gain an advantage.

Is KingRy the A-Side?

A lot has changed since Davis fought Ryan in 2023, and Kingry’s popularity has grown beyond where the Baltimore native is now. If anything, it would be Garcia being the A side in the negotiations.

As for the money, Tank could get lucky and get paid $30 million if Turki Al-Shiekh commits to helping make a fight between him and Garcia.

Davis has hurt his career by fighting just once since his win over Garcia, choosing Frank Martin, and then making another mistake by choosing to fight Lamont Roach after March 1st.

It’s a combination of a lack of ambition, fear, and just basic laziness on the part of Tank Davis to not take the right fights to increase his popularity rather than hurt it. More than anything, it’s just an old fear. Gervonta is afraid to take risks. The forces of inertia caught up with him. An object is resistant to change without something putting a fire under it to make it move.
