The MLB announced this Thursday the closing of Phase 1 of the voting for the All-Star Game, in which 14 players are among the finalists for the starting position in the American and National League teams.

As established in this election format, the New York Yankees outfielder, Aaron Judge, and the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman, Bryce Harper, achieved ownership in their positions, being the most voted in this first stage of the voting for the midseason classic.

For Phase 2 of the election of the incumbents, which will run from Sunday to Wednesday of next week, the Latino candidates include:

American League:
Dominican Juan Soto (Yankees) and Venezuelan Anthony Santander (Orioles) in the outfield.

At catcher is Venezuelan Salvador Pérez (Royals); At second base is his compatriot José Altuve (Astros) and at third base, the Dominican José Ramírez.

Dominican Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays) remains in the race at first base and Cuban Yordan Álvarez (Astros) competes in the designated hitter position.

The other candidates for stardom in the American League as a whole are: Adley Rutschman (Orioles) at catcher; Ryan Mountcastle (Orioles) at first base; Marcus Semien (Rangers) at second base; Jordan Westburg (Orioles) at third base; Gunnar Henderson, (Orioles) and Bobby Witt Jr. (Royals) at shortstop; Steven Kwan (Guardians) and Kyle Tucker (Astros) in the outfield and Ryan O’Hearn (Orioles) as designated hitter.

National League
Venezuelan William Contreras (Brewers) is on the way to the all-star game at catcher.

The Dominican Ketel Marte (Diamondbacks) and the Creole Luis Arráez (Padres) compete for stardom at second base of the old circuit.

The All-Star Game will be held on July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers.
